Brief History of the Bernedoodles
A Bernedoodle is the result of crossing the majestic, cheerful Bernese Mountain Dog with the beautiful, intelligent Poodle.
I have retired from breeding English Goldendoodles after 20 years ! And after several years of research, we finally decided to purchase our first Bernese and Bernedoodle from the highest of the breed from top reputable breeders, after purchasing our first bernedoodles and watching them grow we knew we found our next breed! The Bernedoodles are very much like the Goldendoodle they are very family oriented and love to be with you and your family.
Temperament :
We have found that Bernedoodles that are bred right from the highest quality of both Poodle and Bernese they have a fun, goofy/entertaining personality, loyal to the family, great with children and other animals, loving, and they are EXTREMELY SMART, which makes them very easy to train, but can be slightly more stubborn so it may take a little longer on training but with consistency and you will have the perfect Bernedoodle baby! They are highly social and because of their intelligence and can become bored and misbehave if not socialized and trained properly.
One of our families described the bernedoodles "They have a gentle soul"
What Poodles really are
What most people don't know about the poodle is.....
1. They were originally bred for hunting
2. They are wonderful retrievers
3. They are highly intelligent and easy to train
4. They look very beautiful when given a great clip!
5. They love people and love to be with people
6. They sometimes seem to know exactly how you feel as they are highly intuitive and sensitive to your feelings
7. They are non shedding and are wonderful for people with allergies, BUT You could still be allergic , depending what type of pet allergy you have!
HYPOALLERGENIC ?
The term "hypo-allergenic" means completely non-reactive for allergy sufferers. NO dog is completely "hypo-allergenic". Dogs can affect an allergic person in three main ways: dander, saliva, and even urine according to The American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. There are some dogs however, who tend to be more "allergy friendly". People who suffer from allergies and asthma tend to be more tolerant of dogs that have coats that resemble human hair. The F1b Bernedoodle or further back generations are one of these breeds, although even among Bernedoodles there is quite a variation in coats. It is important to work closely with the breeder in determining the right one for you.
